Art Walk Ridgefield
Application, Procedure and Guidelines
  1. Artists must be verifiable residents of Ridgefield or its environs.
  2. Application must be received by August 1, 2008. Jurying will take place the following week. There are two ways to get an application form: Visit www.Ridgefield300.org and download the form or come by Town Hall, 400 Main Street, Ridgefield, Connecticut to pick up an application, which need to be returned to Town Hall with the items mentioned below.
  3. Submit up to 5 slides, photographs or digital images of your art which must be able to be HUNG on a WALL. Images must be labeled with Name, Title, and Dimensions. Digital images must be JPEG or TIF files at least 300 DPI on a CD, and must be labeled in the same manner as if on paper. Please note how many pieces you would like to show (although there is no guarantee all work can be displayed). Samples cannot be guaranteed to be returned although every effort will be made to hold onto them for pick-up.
  4. Each artist must submit an artist statement.
  5. Each artist must sign a waiver for damages to artwork that may occur during Art Walk participation.
  6. Artists will be notified by e-mail of their acceptance on or around July 25.
  7. Artists MUST be on available in person on Saturday, August 16th from 5:30 – 8:00 to talk about their art.
  8. It is the artist’s responsibility to contact the business at least ten days (August 6) before the event and arrange the set-up of the artwork. They will be expecting the call. Artists will receive a confirmation letter about their location and store owners about their artist.
  9. The art work MUST be installed by the morning of the Art Walk and not more than two days before.
  10. Set up and take-down of the art work is the responsibility of the artist. Art must be removed approximately two weeks after the Art Walk and not more than three.

Business owners have final say in the placement of art so please adhere to their requests.

All art must be able to be hung on walls. All artists are REQUIRED to be present with their art during the event (5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16), and are welcome to come to closing ceremonies.

I have read and agree to the conditions set forth in the procedures section. Further I agree that I will not hold business owners, art patrons, the 300th Committee or Art Walk chairpersons liable for any inadvertent damage or theft that might occur to my art during Art Walk or until such time as I have removed the art from said business.
